TAY Drop-in Centers
We are currently editing the directory so that youth and staff have the most up to date contact information. Release is expected January 2018.
In 2013, CAYEN launched a project to recognize, promote, and connect TAY drop-in centers across the state of California. Drop-in centers, designed specifically for TAY, tend to be effective at engaging young people as they provide a safe, supportive, and non-stigmatizing environment for youth to access critical services. Yet, TAY drop-in centers are limited in number and many are severely under-resourced. Our vision is to help recognize, promote, and connect TAY drop-in centers. In doing so, we hope to promote the opening of more drop-in centers, inspire cross-agency and cross-county collaboration, and connect TAY in need of mental health services and other supports to these valuable resources within their communities.
The first version of the CAYEN TAY Drop-In Center Directory was released in 2015. Click here to view or download the directory. Second version release is expected January 2018.
The directory contains a list of drop-in centers specifically serving Transition Age Youth and is a great resource for anyone looking to find mental health resources within their county, whether you’re a provider, someone seeking services, or just interested in what’s available. In addition, the directory includes a resources section that includes a list of crisis lines, youth advocacy programs, and other mental health resources. If you know of any additional resources that you think should be included, please send us a message (click here).
Don’t see your organization listed? If you are a drop-in center and would like to be included in this directory, please email us at email@example.com.
We highly encourage you to distribute and share this directory with your networks, so that more of the public is aware of what services are available to TAY in their area. At this time, we are only able to provide this directory electronically.
*Please note that this directory is a living document, and updates will be made on an annual basis. If you know of any additional resources that you think should be included, please send us a message (click here).
